<< They are accustomed to the idea of film. You shoot a roll, take the exposed 'film' out and drop it into your pocket then reload and do it again.

They LIKE the idea and security of keeping disks with pictures of little Bubba in their drawer at home, just like they do with all of those pictures from years ago that they have in the closet. It feels natural to them. >>

etc...

<< I believe that this is the real strength behind Clik! >>

Nice scenario presented in that post. Let me show you some holes:

1. Current CLIK! cannot do this. Must wait for the future... Bulls always like looking to the 'future'.
2. Your scenario basically assumed a built-in CLIK!. The problems:
- price of a built-in CLIK! vs. a built-in floppy (10x)
- power consumption. No camera running off AA batteries anymore
- How can manufacturers eat the cost of including the CLIK?
- These cameras need to be very expensive, pricing it out of the low -> mid range
- Reliability. Is CLIK! & it's disks a consumer product? Right now, it's not. You cannot move the drive with the 'film' in it, you cannot write on the disks without losing data (use a felt tip!)

3. The digital cam market really is not that big. Sales are projected at 10m units in 2000-2001. Give CLIK! 5% of that market = 500,000 units. Big deal. (500,000) * ($200ASP) = 100m in revenues. 25m per quarter. Jaz sales will drop by at least this much to 'compensate'.
