Begins Satellite Monitoring for Walsh Engineering, Inc. Business Editors MOUNT DORA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1999--American Millennium Corporation, Inc. (AMCI) (Nasdaq OTC:AMCI) announced today that it has recently completed installation of five satellite monitoring systems for Walsh Engineering, Inc., based in Farmington, New Mexico. AMCI Vice President of Engineering Bruce R. Bacon confirmed that the systems were installed on natural gas well compressors operated by Walsh on remote sites in Colorado and New Mexico. Walsh is a regional engineering and operations company that currently operates over 475 sites for 14 different companies. "These Walsh installations exemplify our ability to provide value-added remote satellite monitoring and control system applications that we are continuing to initiate throughout the petroleum and natural gas industry," Bacon added. The five sites each have their own programmable satellite "subscriber communicator" (SC). Each SC can send and receive messages through the ORBCOMM satellite based data communications system. This enables it to call out for alarm events as well as receive polls for current status and commands to modify existing program functions. Alarm events are time-stamped and a history log is maintained at a password protected Internet site supplied by AMCI and accessible to Walsh. AMCI is a licensed value-added reseller for ORBCOMM USA, L.P. that provides two-way monitoring, tracking, and messaging service through the world's first low-earth orbit satellite based data communications system. ORBCOMM is a partnership owned by Orbital Sciences Corporation (NYSE:ORB) and Teleglobe, Inc. of Canada, (NYSE,TSE). "With the growing acceptance of our user friendly cost effective remote satellite monitoring systems by companies within the oil and gas industry, AMCI expects continued growth in the number of new site installations throughout this year and beyond," said AMCI President and CEO Andrew F. Cauthen. "AMCI's capabilities for remote satellite data retrieval combined with multiple access platforms, including internet and intranet access, seems to be gaining a very favorable audience for our products." This press release contains forward-looking statements that involve risk and uncertainties that could cause the company's actual results and experience to differ materially from anticipated results and expectations expressed herein. In particular, AMCI's plans may be revised, and its actual results may differ materially from that indicated by its current plans. --30--gaa/mi* CONTACT: American Millennium Corporation Inc., Mount Dora Jimmy Statham, 352/735-0116 KEYWORD: FLORIDA NEW MEXICO INDUSTRY KEYWORD: COMED COMPUTERS/ELECTRONICS TELECOMMUNICATIONS INTERACTIVE/MULTIMEDIA/INTERNET OIL/GAS Today's News On The Net - Business Wire's full file on the Internet with Hyperlinks to your home page.
