I believe circuit switch cable phone will dominate AT&T local service offerings for the near term until VoIP is proven. Many trials, tests, features compatibility testing yet to go before they go mainstream with VoIP. If nothing else, the OSS (operations support systems) that AT&T runs are all predicated on the circuit switched model, and going to VoIP at his point creates havoc in the support structure that has taken many years to get in place.

As for getting big bucks for engineering services, I'm still waiting to see some of that! Some of us have been known to ask if you want fries with that.
