Caxton, this vindicates the NextWave decision to go for broke [literally]. They saved a fortune. The cdmaOne and cdma2000 technology and markets are now more mature and timing for buildout is better. The cost of infrastructure will be lower.

It seems that NextWave did everything right. Got all the spectrum at the C-block auction. The Pocket bluff was called. Pocket goes bust and the process gets the price for spectrum way down to 'normal' levels. They got a lot of planning done for network buildout. The Korean/Asian collapse came and went. Finances are available.

Time to roll.

How about Leap Wireless International and NextWave Telecom get their heads together? That should be synergistic. As a shareholder of both, I'm happy with that.

Things take a long time. The auctions were 3 years ago now. Luckily I'm patient. In 1991, I thought cdmaOne would have been at the 30 million subscriber level 3 years ago, [not that I'd put any numbers on it].

Surf's Up!

Maurice

PS: On reading that judgement, I was really impressed. The writer obviously had got a very good grasp of everything. People knock the lawyers, but like the police and military, who'd be without them [the best of them anyway]?
