[dspg q1 99 cc]

Hi Kevin,

dspg does seem pretty strong recently... maybe things are on track ;)

fwiw, my favorite parts of the the last conference call: (tho with no mention of "potential" home networking).. the wireless stuff sounds very promising.. seems to me that they must have inherited some pretty good built-in customers from amd... and now with amd also licensing palm seems that the relationship between amd and dspg is evolving... and especially liked the comment about next year's prospects for wireless products- "several 10's of millions of $"... would think the next year's story might hinge on who those customers might be? - find it interesting that management is confident enuf to make such statements when the product hasn't even shipped(?)

my favorite parts of this last dspg q1 99 cc:

"and we have also received a first substantial order... as a matter of fact two orders.. for the new line line of cordless telephones for both rf chips and baseband chips.. the customers are requesting deliveries already in q2 ... we are not sure that the foundries with which we work.. will be able to begin shipments of these products in q2, but for sure shipments will be done in q3.. maybe we shall succeed with our big manufacturer tsmc to squeeze something also into q2..."

and

"we do expect this year already significant number of dollars that this wireless activity will contribute.. and i can say that in the year 2000 it can be several tens of millions of dollars that it will add to our top line ... "
---

also it seems that the new 16000 product is ramping up nicely ... seems like q2 will probably close to double q1 :

"? on the manufacturing you mentioned that you're working with the foundries to get product out in q2 for the next generation, but you're not sure whether it can be done or not... is this a question of design complexity and cycle time or is it more a question of securing the capacity?

for the 16000 , we are supplying already and we will supply big quantities during the second qtr.. what eli mentioned was that we are not sure that we will be able to supply significant quantities of wireless telephony during the second qtr because we planned everything for the third qtr, but the demand was very big and there is a lot of requests that we begin shipping on the second quarter and the only question is whether the fabs will be able to do it but small quantities for sure they will be able to do in the second qtr..

? richard frost? kaufman bros: based on the improved visibility you are seeing based on the orders for the d16000 what kind of sequential growth are you comfortable with for the june qtr for the product side ?

we will probably be close to double.. it will be almost double..."
---

best wishes
