Thanks for the link. I like the analysis. I hadn't realized inventory build-up was progressing to that degree. That a good chart to track over the coming months.

As for bonds, I think we all know that we're being set up for one hell of a buying opportunity. In fact, I instructed the wife to take her 401K and put it into bonds this month. We may lose some more upside in stocks, but I think the odds are that we'll make it up this fall as capital flight takes place into T-bills, both from overseas and the domestic stock market.

People will be looking for a safe haven, and US gov't securities will be the best provider of that.

I don't know if you read a previous post of mine wherein I reported that a bond analyst had mentioned that US T-bills are facing extraordinary competition from corporate bond offerings during the first half of 1999. The second half should leave US bonds in a market by themselves.

We'll see.
