Hi John,
I had no firm basis for the 0.5. From the most pessimistic view (i.e. - from the short's view) I think a value of 0.5 times sales would be an appropriate valuation target. (Didn't I read that they typically paid 0.5 to 1.0 times sales for the companies they acquired?)

DeKalb genetics has a price to sales of about 7, and my impression is that their competitors typically are valued at at several times sales. Hopefully in time ABTX will be similarly valued.
