From some of those votes we can clearly see where the US was likely on the wrong side of the issues. But then again, we have to look at what the other side of the issues was and why nations voted the way they did.

We'd have to look at the context and language contained within each of those bills and what was being proposed.

Like I said, the US ain't perfect, but sometimes we have other criminal regimes using the "law" to protect their own power as well.

And that's how democracy works. It's a constant pushing and pulling of disparate interests that require compromise and concessions to resolve.

I heard someone the other day mention that democracy's strength and its inherent weakness is a system built upon confusion. So long as political interests remain confused or disorganized, none can seize the upper hand long enough to fully impose their will upon the others.

The problem is that people pray for order and utter stability. But then they often regret that prayer when they find order "preying" upon them.
