>>.I've been in cash for so long they think I'm some sort of freak. Do the rest of you Mythsters experience this as well?<<

I've been warning friends and family of an impending crash for almost 3 years. They do start rolling their eyes...

It's amazing to hear that a family member has gotten out of the 5.25% CDs so he can put it into an index fund where "it will do much better."

I had another relative jump on the MSFT bandwagon only recently, after seeing still another family member go from 8k to around 180k in the same issue after just a few years. The new player is down a bit on the "investment" since buying.

It seems that most everyone I talk to think the market goes, up, up, up forever...and that inflation is somehow "ok" in the stock and real estate markets, but nowhere else.

I have one friend who seems to "sort of understand" the kind of game that's going on in inuts, but he's said more than once that he can "time his exit properly."

Another friend has stashed some YHOO as a life-long "investment."

Anyway, I tell them all to get into metals; and in stock issues, to look for companies selling below book.

FWIW
Andy
