Did you know that the people who built the first synagogue
in North America, Shearith Isreal in New Amesterdam, were refugees
from Brazil? The had fled from the Jewish colonies in
Brazil after the Pourtugese had recaptured Brazil in 1645. They were headed by Rabbi Isaac de Fonseca who petioned the Dutch Governor
or the New Amesterdam Peter Styvensant. The founders spoke Ladino,
and Dutch, and the services were conducted in Hebrew and Ladino!
As for Israel, time for Bibi, Sharon, Sharanski, Schlamils to fade away. They have mis-managed the State, and have tarnished the image of Israel as a Westren democracy. They have screwed-up everything, they have touched.
We need someone that can say NO to Palestinians and to Ultra-Orthodox! Palestinians are entitled to an autonomy and "eventually" full independence. That is a reality, that we postpone but not to avoid.
Bibi is a comromised man who can't say NO, and he ends saying yes,
to everyone, including Palastinians!
One last thing, as soon as Baraq wins, expect a chain of bloody
boming in Israel. Lot of Jewish blood will be shed. Do you remmber while Rabin was in the office there were regular bombing by Palastinians extremists?? Then the bombs stopped as soon as Bibi won the election!! Ask questions!! Can't say more!
