I just had an interesting encounter with my Merrill Lynch 401k plan. After reviewing my losses for the last two years, where over $1100 invested is now $690 in one fund (Merrill Lynch Growth Fund), I decided I needed to liquidate it. To my surprise, the automated system was remarkably simple when I went to sell this fund except for one problem: I can only transfer the proceeds to another fund out of 9 available, money market not being one of them.

This is a preview of what this bull market will turn into. Millions of retirement plan participants will be locked into lousy funds and will be left holding the bag WHEN the market declines.
