These posts are a good start. Several of us on this thread have been worrying about higher interest rates and the impact they might have for a while now, and now you have to add to that we are in the May to September season which involves more lull and lesser participation overall.

Another thing to do against this backdrop is not to hold as much overnight and to use the intraday volatility to find plays whose tape tells the story. I have also learned over the years in times like these to trade in smaller lots. PBY, mentioned twice by Jenna and once by me, was a great play today. It made repeated intraday highs on a good earnings report and was in a sector (retail) which had several stocks bucking the trend. Another stock in that area which had a super day and which I missed was Z which got upgraded by Merrill Lynch and moved up on good volume.

WEBT was a terrific play as it reversed its trend and saw accumulation from the late morning. Hats off to Jenna on EXTR too.

I hope many on this thread have been reading James Padinha of TSC (thestreet.com) on this inflation struggle. He has been right on and packs lots of good statistics in which you cannot find anywhere else.
