To Mike, Bill M. and Ralph,

My view of the Preakness is not that much different from my view of the Derby with a few minor exceptions.

I still think Menifee is the most talented horse, but not at this price.

Cat Thief will fire. He doen't like to win, but I feel better about him this time than I did last time. Just a gut feeling. He keeps inching forward in ability. I won't get my price I don't think.

I like the fillie a lot better now than I did going into the Derby where I gave her only a slight chance. I obviously underestimated her ability a bit. Despite the record I think 1 3/16 is better for a fillie going against colts than 1 1/4. My own statistics on this tell me that the shorter the distance the better fillies do against colts on "dirt". The slow pace of grass races make for great battles between colts and fillies at any distance. The best fillies can sprint home with the best colts.

Vicar is in and taking NO early money. I throw out his last and still think he is only a shade behind the best horses. I'd want a slightly better relative price today than last time just in case he is going south. I can't be sure. He's a big number in the betting right now. I am keenly interested.

Patience Game is a cut below but improving rapidly. Hasn't met this caliber but I have a very good feeling about this one.

I gave Stephen got Even a shot in the Derby because I thought he was a bit better than he looked. The public "over" agreed. He was a very big underlay in the Derby. May run better today.

Charismatic was not an impossible Derby pick. I think he is better than he looked going in to the Derby but not as good as he looks coming into this.

Kimberlite Pipe was not my favorite going 1 1/4 last time. I gave him little shot. He ran well and I like him better at 1 3/16. Not impossible.

Worldy Manner may have been short, but I will pass because I don't know what to make of him yet. I would need a real big price to bet on him but he may be very very good.

Adonis had NO shot in his last. He had a horror trip. I wasn't a big fan of his going into the Derby, but we will get a better line today.

Valhol is electric.

Torrid Sand, I don't think so.

Badge- If I'm not a big fan of Adonis and the Wood Memorial field....

Good luck all.

Wayne
