My interpretation of those remarks
I am inclined to agree with your "reading of the tea leaves" but not quite so bullish on bottom line. Clearly unit growth will be good and DELL will make earnings. ASP will be down. The big question is the revenue line, which will reflect a couple of key growth issues.
1 - are the enterprise components (servers and storage products) up to snuff? Lots of people will be watching this, as it is a counter to declining PC desktop ASPs. Also DELL has more room to grow in that segment.
2 - Are margins being squeezed by declining ASP, or is it just a question of more units but less per unit, with good management of GM?

These will IMO be the things which will determine whether investors push DELL up or down. I have seen nothing to date in DELL's guidance to indicate how this will play out. Any ideas?
