From Annual Report 1998:

The Phase III Trials of THERATOPE vaccine for metastatic breast cancer commenced last fall. It will evaluate 900 patients at over 75 sites in the USA, Europe and Canada. It is designed to take 48 months and expected to produce definitive on whether THERATOPE is effective in delaying time-to-disease progression and prolonging life.

If an interim look at the results demonstrates significant data, it is possible that Biomira will receive accelerated marketing approval as early as 2001.
