That Buffalo game has to be the worst choke in Houston history, if you don't count the UH-Notre Dame Cotton Bowl (Montana - remember?) or maybe the Astros' el foldos in the 1980 and 1986 National League Championship series (the 1980 tank led by Nolan Ryan), or possibly Phi Slamma Jama getting kicked in two consecutive Final Four games by Georgetown and NC State. Or maybe, that inspired drafting of Ralph Sampson instead of Michael Jordan by the Rockets. Remember this quote, "Last year, we knocked on the door. This year, we beat on the door. Next year, we're gonna kick the sonofabitch in!" (Bum Phillips, 1980 after the Oilers lost their second consecutive league championship game to the Pittsburgh Steelers).
