OT, Sort of - I2 & FC

J, I'm not well versed on I2 but from what I've gleaned from my haphazard readings, I ken that the "order of magnitude" will almost all come from the storage side of the network. The backbone move is toward optical-switches that can pump 32 Terabits per second, thus the heavy telecomm participation. Internet caching is rapidly moving toward solid state disks fronting storage farms (see Neil's post re Farid Neema's assessment: exchange2000.com )

The I2 fibre channel market growth will occur within and between storage farms and their edge interconnects to I2, IMO.
