There was an article in Information Week (Nov27). Apparently, MCI had been
trying out Winstar's wireless technology in Atlanta for six months,
and it was only recently that they signed a 5 yr agreement. The
article also mentioned that Winstar has hired AT&T to do management
of some of its services. One of the AT&T executives, I believe, also said
said that they would CONSIDER using wireless for that last mile
fiberless access. Winstar, as you perhaps know, has the license
(38 GHz) for several major US cities.
