ORB Rocks On!

The roof is shaking, the walls are coming down...ORB is hitting store shelves near you. Get ready to witness Jaz and Zip disaplys coming down and ORB displays going up...just read the actual reports by REAL USERS!

In a sense yes, a Zip is the same as a Jaz because both are crappy, unreliable, overpriced, and both are made by Iomega.  Syjet and SparQ made by Syquest were much better, but Syquest just closed shop.  Now, there is a new entry on the market.  It's called the ORB by Castlewood systems.  On a per megabyte basis, it's much, much, much cheaper than the crappy Iomega drives, and also much more reliable, and much more speedy.  An Orb sells for $200 and a 2 GB cartridge only sells for $30.

The dominance of Iomega drives is like the VHS vs. Betamax or PC vs. Macintosh.  Better marketing won it market shares, but their drives truly suck and are way overpriced.

Iomega had a pretty good run with Jaz. But that run is over, and the tired old broken down mule is about to be taken out behind the barn and shot...along with its $100's of Millions in revenues for Iomega.

The new kid in town? The name is ORB.

Castlewood ORB.
