Ken W.. . . you bring up PRFM, which was pretty much the start of the stock picking on this thread, since picking BAMM on Tokyo Joe's. . .
Certainly picking TUNE at 4.50 was my best pick yet, though PLCOP will probably end up with larger percentage gains.
This thread will be 6 months old in 2 weeks.
I'm trying to recall the stocks we picked as position and swing trades here at HOME thread FIRST. . .then when the rest of the investment world "discovered" them, we all made money. . . .

Then there were plays on NDB, SIEB, ATHM, SEEK, CNET, ABOV, QCOM, RNWK, TFSM, DCLK, GNET, ANF, BCST, BRCM, IBM, MOT, DBRSY, and many, many others through our LONG PORTFOLIOS. . . the original, now up over 150 percent since this thread was started.
OH. . .and don't forget calling the tax based rally in internets and high-techs, which started late March, and was called with 3 weeks of lead time. . .then calling the top of internets and high-techs in plenty of time for everyone to get out. . . that's pretty important on the larger scale.
Now if we were to keep track of the hundreds of stocks that this thread PASSED on, that never amounted to anything. . .we would be here all day long. . . look through the nearly 7000 posts for that.
Nearly every SI thread leader with a large following has either started or is in the process of starting a pay site for their picks.
I have never done a comparison on the accuracy and gains between ours and others, but I find it fascinating that these pay sites are taking in so much dough.
TJoe and S.A. is charging about 50/month and has just filed for an IPO for 2.9 million shares with a preliminary price of 10 bucks. . .hoping to raise between 30 million and 100 million bucks.
Anthny is charging 80/month for 20 minute delayed picks and 400 to 1000 per month for real-time picks. . . then has a seminar planned, which is said to cost many thousands per person.
TLuke is building a pay site, to be activated any day. JennaMarket Gems has had one for a while.
Daniel/MoneyMade and some others are getting more difficult to locate. And nearly everyone has a newsletter out or ambitions to break out on their own these days.
Recent splits of thread leaders from SI may help explain why my PMs and Emails have been getting backloaded lately. . .I used to be able to stay on top of responses. . .where now I leave many privates overnight [I read public posts LONG before private ones].
I have had a surprising number of offers to leave SI and start posting on competing websites. . .or to do both . . . .
I have ideas for an investor pay site that would instantly become an indispensable daily trading tool that would be on throughout the market day. . . and would provide us with privacy and convenience. . .could be as big as any investor site going today.
I am currently interested in getting the mutual funds going [and am trying to pull every string I can to do so. . .didn't know how tricky it could be] . . .the website is getting 'perfected' like a wine gets aged before it gets opened. . .thing is, I like SI and wish they would step up to the plate, but. .
in the end we all do what we must or what we can and rarely what we want.
So things around here may change over the summer. . .but rest assured, I am working to make things BETTER for us all. . . quicker, easier, clearer and more effective.
