OT: I was just wondering how the various compressed formats compared to each other by size. For example: I really enjoy listening to yesterdayusa.com on my desktop while browsing & watching the market. YUSA also has an archive of thousands of Old Time radio programs that one can download (save to your computer). I thought it would be kinda fun to burn (record/write) a CD with a bunch of the programs, write a simple DB (data base) program to manage & select radio shows, & play them off the CD instead of off the internet or HD (hard disk). If another compressed format was substantially smaller than the other, and a play-back program available, I could convert RAM audio files to the other, burn them onto a CD (getting more on it), & proceed to have fun. That's the only reason for my madness... This (in my opinion), is not related to EDIG's system. EDIG can handle ANY compressed format... No matter what it is! And do it easily... Thanks to the MicroOs & other building blocks that they own. So Chris, can you give me any more feedback on the subject? File formats: RAM WAV MP3 AMP EPAC (what will it's extension be?) or whatever else you might be familiar with... Thank you, Chris. Your reply was very interesting! Joe
