The only times I use SNET are:

1. I want to buy or sell a specific amount of stock that is being offered or bid by a dealer or an ECN other than island, and that lot is greater than 1000 shares.

2. I want to buy, for example, 400 shares of a stock, but the best offer is for 100 shares by a dealer....in this case, I snet the dealer using an AON order.

I use island or soes at all other times. I think soes is underrated and very effective in many cases.
