excerpts from a post in another galaxy (other NYRR site): NYRR DOES hold the only public permit to haul railcars into and out of NYC. NYRR HAS gotten rid of Crawford. NYRR HAS acquired three additional locomotives in preparation for the expansion to come. NYRR IS going to announce an intermodal agreement with Norfolk Southern in early June. NYRR IS going to announce a garbage contract with the city. NYRR HAS qualified for the ICTEA grant and the money IS allocated. NYRR DOES have a new CFO who has been assigned the task of cleaning up the financials with the goal of becoming fully reporting. NYRR DOES have a lawsuit pending against Conrail for $900 million. NYRR HAS already held settlement talks with Conrail and there WILL be a settlement (in July), and it WILL result in money and benefits flowing into the RR.
