This is far less bizarre than AMZN ever turning a profit. This is actually feasible.

Glenn- I still think AMZN will turn a profit (and a healthy one). To put your AMZN-profit-doubt into perspective, how far do your think they can take their revenues before they go bust? That might end up as a good estimate for the revenue level to first reach profitability (in another scenario;-).

Read no further unless you'd like to see a couple colorful paintings. A shameless art promotion, if you will. My mother is an artist (contemporary, colorful, abstract paintings and monotype prints) in the Bay area, and over the past week has been holding her first online auction.
