Okay, guys, given the hypersensitive reaction to the suggestion
in the US that there might be some inflation on the horizon,what's
the strategy toward our blue chips? Unload? Wait for prices to
bottom as interest rates find a top? In inflation it's not a good
idea to sit with cash (thirty years ago I watched a Brazilian
millionaire become a pauper because he sold his ranch and his
profits became worthless pieces of paper. What stocks will do
well in an inflationary environment? And, big question, how much
inflation and at what level interest rates. Few today seem to
remember those mortgage rates that peaked at 21% in Canada some
years back. I watched people who'd put ten percent down in a
frothy housing market get wiped out. Banks were offloading
property at less than the money owed because they were sinking
under the weight of repossessed properties. OR are we just looking
at a moderate increase in inflation, that drives up interest rates one percent, that
will, with the tax structure, leave investors in bonds who are
taxed at 50% with a negative return instead of a real return?
