Yeah, the IPO rating didn't make much sense to me either, given all thy excellent arguments. My "theory" re the underwriter weighting is based on zoox' underwriters holding a 2-1 advantage in the sheer number of offerings over brcd's (274 to 135) and Dain is a newcomer with only 2 in '99, which might mean something to the rater. That's the only rationale that I could find for the ratings, not that I subscribe to it.

In any case, I agree that brcd's lower rating won't mean that much to those who know anything about the fibre channel switch market. And zoox' higher rating may mean something only to those who are without a clue.

ps - Charismatic was a lock at the shorter distance. Though Lukas was initially aiming him at the Belmont, the 1 1/2 mile may find him headed at the wire by Menifee, depending on the pace. Box the cheap exacta.
