Icy, a few months ago, AOL took their first step towards broadband deployment via copper by announcing an agreement with Bell Atlantic. Their move to cable is merely to compliment their broadband portfolio, IMO (ie. cover all the bases - they need satellite for the entire suite).

Earthlink is my ISP, they have Charter Communications to provide high speed internet service via cable. Recently, they announced a partnership with Sprint for DSL.
