Larry,

You are willing to do a lot of work on your technical analysis so I know you are not lazy. I also hear the anxiety in your voice concerning this volatile quarter for DELL and the rest of the PC industry.

I would suggest that you take a look at the financials for CPQ and look at the build up in their "internal inventory" and then look at the channel financials to look at the "channel inventory levels."

If you do this ( it will take you an hour or so) , you will see that the indirect pipeline is 60 to 70 days. Last year at this time it was 90 to 100 days long.

DELL's inventory pipeline because of JIT build to order is basically
zero days. This constitutes a huge advantage for DELL in a highly competitive pricing environment. DELL has many other advantages but this is a huge advantage!

So if you really want to get on top of the rumor mill you will do some fundamental analysis like Meathead, Gabriel, Mohan, CTC, etc on this
thread. Otherwise you will be thrown to and fro by every new rumor.

Regards,

Jim Kelley
