Yes I have done well with EDIG (formerly ncii). As for where they are going, your guess is as good as mine. Although they have four valuable patents, I believe it all comes down to customer satisfaction. If EDIG does NOT meet or surpass the expectations of its current customers (Lucent Technologies, Lanier Worldwide, Inc., and Intel Corporation)they could very easily go nowhere. On the other hand, if they do satisfy their customers I expect them to get into the following markets:
Palmtop PCs, Laptop PCs, Pagers, Cellular phones, Other portable consumer devices, and Digital Car Music Players
They are already working on a portable digital music player, portable voice-to-text devices, and docking stations. lanier.com lucent.com
EDIG's recent alliance with IBM,Dictaphone, Norcom Electronics, Olympus, and Philips may help EDIG get into those other markets faster:

This is why I think EDIG is good for SNDK:
"MicroOS is the only operating system for flash memory that has a data transfer rate limited only by flash memory write speed. The operating system therefore supports the recording speeds required to write directly to primary memory without intermediary memory. This eliminates the need for a high-capacity buffer, allowing rapid, efficient, and economical use of flash memory." norriscomm.com
However, EDIG's capabilities are not dependent upon any particular flash memory card nor any particular compression algorithm. In September 1998 EDIG reported that its MicroOS supports IBM's Microdrive.
