Never read the "gorilla game", should sometime.
The shift in the "gorilla" is almost always due to a shift or a saturation in the driving force of the underlying technology. Because of that I think that you are right that CSCO has probably at least another 2-3 years left as the gorilla of the communications hardware world. But who after that? What shift in the technology will cause it? juniper, ciena, lu, nn, nt,siemens, coms, alcatel, nec, cs, ods, fore, lannet Not many of these impress me enough to think they have a shot a dethroning csco except the classic one people name: lu. Thats too easy though, it will probably be someone else. Eric BTW: you seem to be encouraging a pretty long term view of CSCO for a thread titled "cisco for technical traders". I trade CSCO as well as own it long term, and would love to hear more opinions about the direction for the next week or month rather than the next 5 years. My opinion is that we have hit a short term top. Not enough momentum in the stock or the market to break 120, back down to 105ish over the next few weeks. |
