Most people aren't rewarded in "those ways." Only a few are elite, you know? But I don't think you need gold statuettes and blue ribbons to be happy, do you? Otherwise most people throughout history missed out on happiness. Happiness comes from within. A flower can be the most beautiful thing in the world. From my perspective, I'd give up every award I ever won just to maintain homeostasis, pain-free. Just not hurting is a miracle. Believe me.
