This story has been circulating for a long time. It was researched by a sex columnist for the Village Voice, Dan Savage. He was unable to find in the medical literature or through any connection in the gay world any factual basis for it. Neither this comic story or any other involving gay men and gerbils could be substantiated. It is an urban myth.
