Thanks Michael. I missed the comment by Jerry. If they are holding inventory, then something may break soon. I heard that several manufacturers have fabs switching back from Sync DRAM, and this new supply of EDO and FPM will hit the market in a month or so. This could cause prices to collapse again. But again, if Samsung is determined to force 4X pricing and crossover to 64Mbit, then they may be willing to completely sacrifice their 16Mbit business to sustain 16Mbit prices.

When you think about it, holding inventory is not that much of a risk for Samsung. They will always be able to dump at about $5.00, to recover their marginal cost of production. And their 16Mbit fab equipment has probably been completely depreciated by now.
