I believe that it will be a threat to Creative's sound cards.

Just had a good look at the specs for the Cyrix MediaGM processor. The only set back for PCs built around this processor is the relatively slow speed (compared to an Intel P133). The real problem will arise when Intel gets into the act as well, or if Cyrix managed to come out with a faster chip at competitive pricings.

But, Creative has other products in the pipeline. DVDs (with Samsung), 56K modems (with Rockwell), Falcon card (with 3D Labs), etc. If any of these takes off, we could see some real increase in earnings.

The recent strength of the US$ bodes well for Creative. Revenue are mainly in US$ whilst costs are in S$ and Yen, etc.

This is a good stock to hang onto, IMO.
