But would apps that need directory referals be content with the /winnt/ vs /winnt2 differentiation?

I am just trying to look at the alternatives. I do not think I like the idea of having two OSes looking at the same apps. I do not know why..mostly because I do not understand enough about what things may or not be affected.

If the OS 'copy' (vs clone which I use to refer to a complete partition duplication) looks for an app it should find it. It is the registry that I do not understand. I do not know what kind of interaction there is with an app and the registry. There may or may not be other issues.

I am still drawn to 'C' drives for operations. I do not like dealing with changing drive letters and the unknown..only if I have to. Unknown forces try to divide the drive and I try to get back to one drive:)

I still want a lot of drives but only as ancillary drives..KOT..ROMO..storage and as alternate boot drives, ie a Win9x game machine...and hopefully LINUX down the road apiece<g>

IMO..an 8 gig or less 'C' drive with apps installed on the same drive.

How is Seagate Backup Exec/ROMO working out? Does it copy files into one large file similar to Drive Image? or can you configure it to copy files to the ROMO and the ROMO looks just like the 'C' drive?

I want a delayed 'mirror' drive. Maybe a 12 hour delay. RAID is instantaneous. That is only good for drive failures.
