A good analysis, I think, of a typical neo-facist type of mentality. This Clarke guy sounds like a beauty. But that isn't my point or my interest. It reflects on Rock and its claim.

See if I got this right.

The Nanoose site is in BC on provincial crown land. The site is leased to the federal gov't who in turn allow the US Navy, among others, to use it for testing and other purposes. The terms will be spelled out in the lease I guess. The BC gov't refused to renew the lease, even on much more favorable financial terms, because the federal gov't couldn't assure that ships using Nanoose would not carry nuclear arms. The fed's then said there is an interest in national defense that Canada has that supercedes the interest that the province may have in the land. And, that that interest is more important to all Canadians than BC's interest in the land. Thus the fed's will expropriate it. Compensation? Who has the interest that the supreme court will find is actually the property interest?

This is more than just interesting.
