Check out this chart on Micron Technology:

See the run from 1993 - 1995 = pricing power and capacity constrained. I actually bought 100 shares in late summer 1995 in the 60's. I watched the stock climb to 90 - still its all time high - and then start dropping. I got lucky and didn't really care about the stock so I sold in the 70's for a small gain. I had no idea that the drop to 20 was even possible - all the news was great. Demand exploding, visibility excellent. But the market was watching the supply and pricing which began to signal a top - even though MU continued to blow out earnings. Of course the price had risen dramatically so it could be argued that the earnings growth was already in the stock but it was instructive that the stock was weak in spite of very strong earnings = another signal.
