Since the Nas 100 is so tech-heavy, what would be the advantages and disadvantages of investing in QQQ vs the Technology SPDR (XLK)?

XLK includes tech companies like IBM and AOL that aren't traded on NASDAQ. QQQ includes some non-tech companies such as AMGN, but they are collectively a small percentage of the index. If you're using QQQ as a proxy for the tech sector, wouldn't XLK be a better play?
