Buying with "existing" stock means the company is using their own shares,i.e., shares bought back, taken out of the float but not cancelled. Of course, those shares were bought back with cash so the next acquisition looks just like a cash deal.

The key is this: What does the company get for its cash/issued shares? The battery deal was done for 100,000 shares, approximately 1% of the o/s at the time. If it produces a 1+% in the fundies, then it is deemed accretive.

He definitely is confusing splits with dilution. In theory, forward or reverse splits are simply math calculations. However, in practice, the forward split is always thought of as a positive action while the reverse is invariably perceived as negative.
