Buying with "existing" stock means the company is using their own shares,i.e., shares bought back, taken out of the float but not cancelled.

We are splitting hairs here, but float has nothing to do with the original question, regarding dilution. EPS calculation center on shares outstanding. If shares were repurchased, they are no longer outstanding. If they are reissued to pay for an acquisition, they get added to the outstanding, and increase the denominator in the EPS calculation. Float has no bearing, and is a an arbitrary and unquantifiable attempt to predict price movement based on increases in volume.
