Simply and clearly stated, Westell's primary objective is: "To Make Our Customers Successful." We view our customers as partners in all our activities.
With our products business, Westell serves every Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC), as well as each of the interexchange carriers (IXC's) and competitive access providers (CAP's), such as Sprint and MCI/WorldCom, and the new "alternative carriers" such as Qwest and Williams. We are the recipient of numberous quality awards from our Customers such as the GTE Supplier of Excellence Award.
Our service business, Conference Plus, Inc. provides audio, video and IP multimedia conferencing services to Fortune 500 and Global 500 Companies such as American Express and BP-Amoco as well as private label services for national carriers.
As the preeminent supplier of products for delivering services to the local loop, Westell has joined with several key suppliers to provide full network solutions. With our Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) products, Westell serves the largest accounts in the world in conjunction with our partners wuch as Lucent Technologies and Fujitsu Telecom Europe, Ltd. (FTEL). With Lucent, Westell has partnered to provide the most efficient, cost-effective solution for DSL deployments where customers are served by Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) systems such as Lucent's SLC 5 and SLC 2000 series remotes. Our European alliance with FTEL is highlighted by our key role in British Telecom's DSL deployment throughtout the United Kingdom.
In our Telephone Access Products (TAP) business, Westell jointly markets and develops modules for the Total Access System with Adtran, Inc. The Total Access System delivers services to customers at rates of 56kps to 6Mbps. using DS-1 through OC3 backbone interfaces. Westell also has interoperability relationships with Hekimian Laboratories and Anritsu's Telecommunications Division to ensure seamless operations of Westell's PROACT products with measurement systems produced by these companies. And our relationship with Clear Communications adds the intelligence of our PROACT products to their network surveillance systems.
