After all, China is the only nuclear power who dare to take the pledge of "never use nuclear weapon first".

Isn't that comparable to the US saying they won't use ground troops in the Balkans.

N'est de Jamais, Jamais.(sic)

Personally, were the US to use nuclear weapons in a pre-emptive strike, I'm fairly confident that it would mean the downfall of the US gov't at that time.

But let's face facts here. China can't threaten the US physically except with nuclear weapons. But they can threaten their neighbors, which equate to our interests (mainly in democracy and freedom of political choice).

Why can't we all just get along and do some business together. Business interests keep the hot-headed politicians in check and make them think twice.

Regards,

Ron
