Stitch,

<Who would have guessed anyone would want to buy APM but I now believe it is true. It looks like Tandon Associates, a Simi Valley California head maker with a factory in India is negotiating to buy APM.>

I heard a rumor they were looking also. What else are they going to do with all of those workers in India? Go get a wafer fab, any wafer fab, particularly one that you can buy for pennies on the dollar. Then you go from MIG to GMR in one giant leap. Bingo, you're a player. Then all you need is a customer. APM has had trouble doing that but Tandon probably feels you just have to cut your overhead further and lower your prices further, and BOOM you are in the glamorous, sexy recording heads business.

Then you start another HDD company and go head to head with Conner for the super lower end? Maybe $20 disk drives (caution, no warranty).

Just guessing, TOKO
