Unique Broadband investigates move to Nasdaq
Unique Broadband Systems Inc UBS Shares issued 65,835,356 1999-05-14 close $0.43 Monday May 17 1999 Mr. Alex Dolgonos reports The company has begun planning its move to Nasdaq. With most of the company's business generated from the United States and internationally, it makes perfect sense to be listed on an exchange that will be more suited to its profile. As the leading North American supplier of digital audio broadcast systems, concurrent with the rollout of the Satellite Digital Audio Radio Systems (SDARS) in the United States, the company is in a position to take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead. There has been an increase in investment activity from the United States in the past few weeks, both on a private basis and institutionally. The company has been receiving many calls from brokerage firms in the United States and Europe inquiring into the status of current bids and our involvement in the wireless industry in general. Being listed on Nasdaq would definitely give the company much more exposure to a larger investment community. To this extent, the Company has engaged the consulting firm of Peter G. Sutherland & Associates of Santa Barbara, Calif. With over 25 years in business, the firm specializes in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and alliances in the telecommunications and wireless industries. The firm is currently negotiating a volume manufacturing and teaming agreement with a multinational company on behalf of Unique, in anticipation of being awarded contracts that would require volume manufacturing. Unique is currently bidding on a number of such contracts and would need a partner in order to fulfill the delivery requirements. "We feel that a move to an exchange which is more suited to high technology companies like ours, will benefit the shareholders and increase the overall value of the company", stated Alex Dolgonos, president and chief executive officer of Unique Broadband Systems.
