Checkers, checkmate, check it out! Sony Online Entertainment (SOE)
today debuted its new Classic Games area on its premiere online game
service, The Station@sony.com, featuring all-time favorite card,
board, word, arcade games and more. The Station's Classic Games area
(www.station.sony.com) offers free online versions of 16 popular games
including Checkers, Chess, Crossword, Bingo, Jumble, Backgammon,
Hearts.
"These games are a wonderful way to bring people together on the
Net," said Robert Gehorsam, SOE's Senior Vice President of Programming
and Platform Development. "Games like Bingo and Jumble(R) are a great
addition to our game service which already includes such favorites as

Among the games featured in The Station's Classic Games area are
card games such as Bridge, Euchre, Hearts, Solitaire and Spades; board
games including Backgammon, Checkers and Chess; and word games such as
Crossword, Jumble, Sports Crossword and Word Search. Also featured are
arcade games including Overflow, a puzzle game, and Void, an
outer-space action game, along with two bingo games, EZ-Win Bingo and
Jackpot Bingo.
Most of the games feature multi-player components, allowing
participants to compete with others in real-time over the Internet.
The Station's Classic Games area is powered by Total Entertainment
Network.
