There has been so little talk of the fact that it is the most talked about buyout candiate that has declined to proceed with SEPR. Step back a minute, folks. See anything else at work here? J&J knows that with a little move like that (for them and for SEPR) J&J could throw a monkey wrench into SEPR's upstanding and intimidating growing reputation. Doesn't this raise anyone else's hackles? It seems like such a hostile act.

But then, a few here have mentioned J&J's history of pursuing deals and then backing out of them at the last moment. Hmmm. That's a good way to learn the details of the competion's business, isn't it?

Losing a corporate partner is always terribly damaging in the biotech area. Many investors in biotech know it to be the kiss of death. MAYBE not with SEPR because their IP holdings are so vast, but many of the investors who climbed in since Southwell's call could be tring to sort that out--along with some of the regulars. Well, yeah, like definitely including me.

Then again, maybe this is just SEPR hitting maturity--courtship is more complicated then than when one is a debutante.

FWIW--
regards all and good luck,
j'fir
