I never said I was accurate at timing sells of PUTS ;-). I'm much better at getting in at the right time. Usually the stocks are strong but very overextended stocks, so even a relief rally can kill the trade. What's worse is that they are the kind of stock that people like getting in on the dips, (we are not talking of Boston Chicken here). I held AMZN for 5 option points the other day that would have been 10 today if I hadn't sold. Of course if I see the market tanking more I'll hold it. I thought that if the DOW is down 100 or so, I'd think of selling, as this might be a sign of reversal. Either Way I'd leave a couple of my puts for insurance.
