Daytraders can't toss the Naz around like that. Check out James Hopkins thread on the Q; he follows the whole NDX and the head-tail relationship (sometimes in excruciating detail). I think the tech crowd isn't worried about the Fed while the fuddy duddies on the NYSE are hanging back. I am really starting to loathe the mainstream Wall Street crowd. Their whole system seems to be designed to annihilate creativity and thinking outside the box.
