Mercury Scheduling lands $3.5-million contract Mercury Scheduling Systems Inc MRY Shares issued 16,500,000 1999-05-14 close $1.72 Monday May 17 1999 Mr. Michael Forster reports DHL Airways Inc., a division of DHL Worldwide Express, has signed a letter of intent to license Mercury's Magellan product. The $3.5-million contract with DHL is the largest in Mercury's history. Mercury's Magellan is a real-time decision support system for tracking crew on the day-of-operations. By providing real-time visibility to solve crew scheduling problems, Magellan can significantly lower an airline's overall operating costs and reduce disruptions. As part of the contract Magellan will be enhanced to include an integrated payroll module and Internet-based full crew communications system. "As the industry's leading crew management system and decision support technology, Mercury's Magellan system was the natural choice for DHL's complex requirements," Mercury president and chief executive officer, Michael Forster said. "DHL was very impressed by the capabilities of our technology and both companies look forward to a successful, long-term partnership." DHL Airways Inc. serves all U.S. destinations for DHL Worldwide Express, the world's largest international air express network. With over 60,000 employees and 222 aircraft worldwide, DHL Worldwide Express links more than 635,000 destinations in over 200 countries.
