why would the cash payments end? microsoft has licensed software from citrix. i can't imagine that citrix would be okay with an arrangement that allowed microsoft to continue shipping citrix software without additional payments.

i'd expect any payments to increase in size. the scale and quality of win2k is much greater than winnt 4.0 tse. microsoft is spouting "we're betting our future on win2k." citrix software will ship in each sku with the likely exception of win2k professional (the personal workstation version.) currently citrix software ships in only one sku - winnt 4.0 terminal server edition.

since microsoft is gonna ship win2k this fall with citrix code in every server, there's gotta be a new agreement. since the scale of the deal is even bigger than before, the payments will be larger. that's my logic anyway.

suspect that the cash payments from MSFT to CTXS will end but there will be some kind of information sharing, but this is just a guess
